LA RAMPICHINA B&B is in a little village BAJO DORA near centre BORGOFRANCO D’IVREA situated in CANAVESE: is subregion located north of TURIN. Its hub is the town of IVREA,of celtic origins and home to major roman colony. CANAVESE is an area of pristine nature, rolling green hills cloaked in vineyards, quality food and wine, festivals and folklore events, as well as outdoor sports thenks to the proximity of GRAN PARADISO NATIONAL PARK.
They are natural and typical cellars got from morainal rocks of MOMBARONE massif and mainly allocated for wine and cheese storage; situated 1 Km. far from the village centre and expanding 500 m. to the north. Their origins are without doubt very ancient connected to grapevine growing,documented in the area since the early 12thcentury. A natural phenomenon brings about an out-rush of air currents from mountain hollows, known as “ORE”: they allow cellars to keep constant dampness and temperature (7-8 centigrade degrees) all year long.
Forests, snowy peaKs, lakes, rivers, vineyards,rice fields and castles are the ideal setting for a perfect reception, the MORAINIC AMPHITHEATER OF IVREA anD CANAVESE encircle the city of TURIN, and then blend with the sloping plain of VERCELLI.
